After 20 years in the software industry in New York City, Boston, and Denver, I went to grad school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to become a historian. Since then, I have worked at a tribal college, a non-profit focusing on technology in higher education, and as the CEO of a 501c3 nonprofit state humanities council. I have published extensively in western history and higher education technology, and am currently working on several creative non-fiction books about women in the American West. I live in the northwest panhandle of Nebraska and travel the region to the tune of about 25,000 miles a year.
