With 20 years of experience in the software industry based in New York City, Boston, and Denver, I returned to my home state to study history at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My focus was on Native American and Women’s History, and upon graduation I began teaching at Oglala Lakota College on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. After a decade at the tribal college, I moved into the nonprofit world, specializing in technology in higher education and cultural heritage and public humanities. I have authored several books, articles, chapters, introductions, and other publications. My work has been widely published in the fields of Western history and higher education technology. Currently, I'm working on several creative non-fiction books. Based in the northwest panhandle of Nebraska, I consult with museums, historical societies, tribal organizations, and other cultural heritage institutions throughout the High Plains and Rocky Mountain region.
